Yuria Rockhole was a special place for Gladys's grandmother, Lucy Washington. Daisy Bates recorded the Wirangu language from Lucy about 100 years ago.

The Wirangu language is spoken on the Far West Coast of South Australia. Gladys Miller is the most knowledgeable speaker of Wirangu and has been driving the revitalisation of the language.
